Where can I view my awarded financial aid?

Tip: Financial aid files take approximately 4-6 weeks to process once you have completed your FAFSA and admissions application and VC has received your official high school transcript with graduation date or GED.
How can I pay my tuition and fees by the payment deadline if I have not been awarded financial aid?

Tip: If you have not been awarded financial aid, you can secure your classes by setting up a Payment Plan.
How do I check my financial aid requirements?
Portal Home > Right Side > Financial Aid Requirements
Tip: You will need all green check marks to complete your financial aid file. Red X's delay your financial aid award. Compelte any red X's as soon as possible.
How do I accept my financial aid terms & conditions?
My Folders section > Financial Aid & Scholarships folder > Financial Aid Awards link > Terms and Conditions tab
Tip: Awarded funds will not be released until you have accepted the Terms and Conditions.
How do I apply for scholarships?

How do I setup direct deposit?

Tip: Remaining awarded funds will be direct deposited to this account. Login again to make any changes.
How do I update my name, phone number, address, major, or SSN?

Tip: Once you have completed this form, contact Admissions at (361) 485-6841 to determine the need for additional documentation.
How do I update my alert contact information?
My Folders section > My Contact Information folder > Update Alert Information link
Tip: These are the phone numbers and email addresses we will send emergency alerts and periodical reminders to. The phone number that is associated with the Text/Phone field needs to be a phone number where you can receive text messages.
Tip: This is not the same as who you want VC to contact in the event you are in an emergency situation.
How can I view the official mailing address VC has on file for me?

Tip: If you have not setup Direct Deposit, any financial aid refunds will be mailed to this mailing address.
When can I register for classes?

Tip: If you are a freshman, you must attend Pirate Orientation before you can register for classes.
Tip: This document will also have payment, payment plan, and refund deadlines and a schedule key.
How can I view semester course offerings?

Tip: You should do this the night before your classes start to reflect any room changes.
Tip: If you are taking summer and fall classes, you will need to change the semester to view the correct schedule.

How do I view my final course grade?

Tip: Only the final course letter grade will be posted here. To determine your final test grade or final course number grade, you will need to contact your instructor.
How do I access my online classes?

Tip: Classes will not be available in Canvas until the day your class begins. For those that are taking second 8-week fast track courses, they will not be available until that class begins. Check your class schedule to determine when your classes begin.
How do I register for any proctored tests, midterms, or finals for my online class?

Tip: Mid-terms and final tests must be scheduled.
Tip: You must know the time-frame when your instructor will allow you to complete the exam and whether it is a paper based exam or a computer based exam. Review your syllabus or contact your instructor.

Tip: Always check the syllabus and verify with your instructor when your specific final is scheduled.

Tip: Transcripts are not available to view during the week before and after graduation.
How do I order my transcript?

Tip: Transcripts are $10 each. Transcript requests will not be processed during the week before and after graduation. They will be processed the week after graduation.

Tip: You should check your student email account at least once a week. VC departments communicate sensitive information through this secure email.
How do I view my PaperCut account balance?

Tip: If you do not have enough money to cover your print job, it will not appear at the print release station.
Tip: To add more money to your PaperCut account, you can visit any food service location (The Cove, Cafe Espresso, The Grind) or the Bookstore to purchase $2 redemption cards. You can also visit Payments located in the Student Services building, to add a set amount of money.
